Alexia de Montalembert and Lucas de Montalembert

Southwest is an attempt to grasp reality and capture the artists’ perception of the American Southwest and its culture through the landscape. It is a subjective journey guided by the moon.

Alexia de Montalembert is a film and video artist graduated in 2022 from CalArts with an MFA in Film/Video. Her work strives to capture the reality and essence of people and landscapes through a singular personal approach. southwest is the first collaboration between Alexia de Montalembert and Lucas de Montalembert.

Lucas de Montalembert is an artist and spatial practitioner based in Amsterdam where he is completing a master’s at the Sandberg Instituut. His work questions the dichotomy between “natural” and “cultural” and the notions of stability and chaos in systems. southwest is the first collaboration between Alexia de Montalembert and Lucas de Montalembert.
