Combining artificial intelligence and unconventional shooting technologies such as night vision and thermal imaging, After the Phoenix Destroys the World in four chapters seeks a shortcut to emotional expression from the seemingly nonsense dialogues, thus exploring a new method of video romance.

Wenxin Zhou, born in Hangzhou, China in 1999, received her BFA in Art and Technology (Information Art Design) at Tsinghua University in 2021 and is pursuing her MFA in Film and Video at California Institute of the Arts. Her works vary in media and forms but mainly focus on using poetic language to seek empathy in the flow of emotions.
